Watch an Utzon Talk with one of the most fascinating contemporary architects in Spain
Enrique Sobejano and Fuensanta Nieto founded Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos in 1984 and is based in Madrid with an office in Berlin.
The award-winning firm has completed international projects several places in Europe and beyond. Their work is well-known for its careful treatment of the landscape and incorporation of a project’s context into the design.
- Our works were conceived independently, at different times. They are the result of varying conditions, places, and programs: at first glance more attentive to what sets them apart than to what may unite them. Only when grouped together, like pieces of an imaginary puzzle, do they seem to reveal what unconsciously connects them. And yet, precisely because architecture is always the result of an interpretation of multiple and apparently unconnected circumstances that end up resembling one another, the projects are a reflection of one another, like an unforeseen result of an endless play of mirrors, says Enrique Sobejano.
In his lecture Enrique Sobejano will focus on the firms recent projects and built works of public and cultural buildings. Watch the lecture at the top of the page. The lecture took place at the Utzon Center on the 14th October 2021.
