Utzon Center is proud to be part of the LightOn lectures which is a series of talks by some of the most renowned and prominent architects, artist and thinkers in the world today.
The first conference will be on Thursday 7th November with a talk by the architect Cino Zucchi.
It is entitled “The Campsite Shower Theory. In praise of a just-out-of time architecture”. With the ironic “campsite shower” metaphor, Zucchi seeks to highlight the gap between need and response and the ability of buildings and cities to adjust over time in order to fulfil roles and functions they were not originally designed for.
One of the most prestigious Italian designers in the sphere of architecture and urban design, Cino Zucchi was born in Milan in 1955 and has degrees from both the M.I.T. and the Milan Polytechnic where he now teaches.
Cino Zucchi is the author of numerous articles and books on architectural theory and history, and he curated the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennial in 2014 and has been a visiting professor at the Harvard GSD.
Together with his CZA studio he has designed and constructed numerous acclaimed and prize-winning buildings, public spaces and urban developments.
