You are helping to develop Utzon Center. You will join a great community and become part of our group of volunteers.

And you will help us tell the whole world about architecture. Because that is important.

At Utzon, we have built a team of volunteers, who share one main thing in common: They love architecture.

As a volunteer with us, you can help create events, assist in preparing our changing exhibitions, support our Utzon Learning activities, take on practical tasks, or in other ways lend a hand with the many activities happening in the house.

Past and upcoming projects
Our volunteers have previously led a range of different events. They have organized various Utzon Talks, contributed to the development and production of the exhibition TEXTILE and helped celebrate the Sydney Opera House’s 50th anniversary.

The team also developed the concept Bar Utzon, a Friday bar for everyone who loves architecture, space and design.

Volunteers also played a major role in hosting the DAC Architecture Run. They helped determine routes and establish various collaborations. On race day, volunteers assisted with logistics—both in the refreshment area, around the different institutions, and as guides along the route.

Right now, our event team is working on several projects. Upcoming Friday bars need to be planned, including developing themes and activities.

As a volunteer with us, you get the chance to engage with cultural life and become part of a meaningful and rewarding community.

It is up to you how many hours you want to contribute. The same goes for tasks. You are free to choose the assignments you would like to take part in.

If you have a great idea or a crazy thought, you are always welcome to share it with us. Who knows, maybe your idea will become a new exhibition or the next big event?

A few times a year, we host special events just for volunteers. Because volunteering at Utzon Center should also be fun and social.

Naturally, there is room for everyone regardless of age or skills. We already have both retirees and students among our volunteers.
